About the Academy
This is a unique and exciting opportunity for school-leavers in the North West, to study for BTEC Level 2 & Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport.
This vocational course is aimed at 16-19 year olds who wish to combine progression in football, either playing or coaching, with the dynamic area of physical education, sports coaching and sports development. Mixed with daily training and opportunities to play at various levels of semi-professional football, this course will look at many aspects of the game.
We believe in developing our players and coaches both tactically and technically, but most importantly developing the individual to become a better person.
We base our coaching philosophy more on the social & psychological side of things, so our coaches are mentally prepared for all challenges that life throws at them.
Designed for students who wish to develop a comprehensive overview of the sports industry, with a specific focus on football and football coaching, the course encourages the development of playing skills, whilst also providing a good foundation in training, tactical and coaching techniques.
About The Coaching & Academy Team
Jamie Carragher Academy offer coaching and playing opportunities for the Academy team. The students week will consist of two days education study programme, two days coaching including competing in the Merseyside College league. We will also have arranged friendlies against Academy football teams including an international Norwegian team to compete against the best. This will give the students the chance to showcase their ability at the top Elite level.
The students will self analyze individual and team performances on replay analysis as part of the Coaching and individual learning objectives given to each player to show progression through the season.
This is a great opportunity for students who want to experience what it is like to be a full-time football player studying and playing hard.

Partnership Broadgreen International School
We are in collaboration with Broadgreen International School. Our students attend Broadgreen one day per week to complete the theoretical element of the BTEC course. Broadgreen also offer us experienced teachers to support the delivery of English and Maths resit.
Additionally, we have the opportunity to use Broadgreen’s excellent sporting facilities including their swimming pool and floodlit 3G pitch. This opens doors for us to recruit international students who wish to study and play for the Academy team.
