The Jamie Carragher Academy works in direct partnership with Nexus (NW) CIC. The recently formed Liverpool-based company has delivered several successful sports projects and community services within Merseyside. They use sport as a focal point to engage with members of the public and transition those not in school, or those on benefits, into further education or employment.
We work collaboratively with Nexus (NW) to deliver intervention programmes within schools to tackle knife crime and antisocial behaviours. We do this via 6-week benchmarked programmes and the delivery of exploitation seminars within both primary and secondary schools as part of their assemblies.
Our academy and Nexus (NW) offer free sport and educational sessions to under 18’s during term time. The main aim of such projects is to keep young people off the streets and to engage them in activities which are beneficial to their physical and mental health. Sessions include drug awareness, alcohol awareness, gang culture, well-being and many more!
Nexus (NW) has a mental health app and e-learning course, named ‘Power to perform’. The product exclusively designed for those who work with children has been endorsed by Jamie Carragher. This is to support our teachers during times of increasing work pressures, cuts to educational establishments and the alarming rates of suicides within the teaching profession. The ‘Power to Perform’ App and e-learning is launching in 2020 and will be a product that enhances our existing App ‘Watch us get fit’.
Our social media pages will be updated ongoing with news and upcoming community projects between the academy and Nexus (NW) CIC.
